Theresa Kaste

Theresa Ann Kaste, age 50, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Hospital on Tuesday, June 23. A funeral service is planned for Saturday, June 27, at 11:00 am at the Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Theresa was born on December 8, 1958, in Sauk Center, MN, to Wendell and Eva (Sharp) Terry. She grew up in Wadena and graduated from high school in 1975. She met Stan Kaste and the two where married on January 18, 1980, and where blessed with three children. While the children where small, Theresa ran a day care out of her home. A few years later, she took a job at the Staples Dairy Queen, and was there for ten years. Her love of taking care of others brought her to work for the Lakewood Health System, first as a CNA and then as an LPN, earning her degree from Central Lakes College in 2007. Her compassion was felt by patients and coworkers alike. Theresa was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and baking.

Theresa is survived by her husband of 29 years, Stan; children, Craig (Steph) of Bloomington, Heather (Dale) Davis of Onalaska, WI, and Tiffany Kaste of Staples; a granddaughter, Lily; her mother, Eva Terry of Wadena; sister, Ellen Niska of St. Cloud; and nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Wendell and sister, Mary.
