Theo Cross passed away Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Memorial services will be Saturday, November 12, at 10 am, at First Congregational Church in Staples, with the Rev. Muriel Hachfeld officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples. In lieu of flowers Theos family requests memorials to the First Congregational Church in Staples or to a charity of your choice.
Theo Margaret Hall was born August 21, 1911 in Brainerd, to Edward and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Hall. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School. She was united in marriage to Robert BobT. Cross in January, 1941. The family moved to Staples in 1945, following Bobs discharge from the Army Air Corps at the end of WWII. In the late 1940s, Theo and Bob started Cross Electric, Inc., a regional electrical contracting firm. She was the secretary/treasurer for that company. Theo was widowed when Bob passed away in 1965. She began working for the Staples school district, assisting many now-retired principals. She continued to make her home in Staples until 1998, when she moved to the Good Samaritan Villages in Brainerd. Theo was a member of the Congregational Church in Staples, and belonged to Eastern Star for more than 50 years.
Theo is survived by her son, Thomas Cross, and his wife, Carol (Anderson), of Wichita Falls, TX; her grandsons, Robert Cross, of Lawton, OK and William Cross, of Dallas, TX; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Her parents, her husband, and her sister, Janet Kreitter, preceded Theo in death.
