Terri L. Monroe, 59, of Pequot Lakes, entered into heaven on Saturday, November 27, 2010. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, step-mother and grandmother. A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 11 AM, Friday, December 3, 2010, at Grace United Methodist Church, Pequot Lakes, with Pastor Dianne Ciesluk officiating.
Terri was born on May 15, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Jan (Welcher) and Cal Monroe. She was a graduate of several nursing programs in the Twin Cities and received her BSN from Augsburg College. Terri was a registered nurse who worked as a staff nurse, flight nurse and a nursing supervisor in three Twin Cities area hospitals, and at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, where she managed five departments.
Terri is survived by her husband, John Luce; stepsons: Andy (Julie) Luce, Bloomington, John F. (Grace) Luce, USAF; parents, Jan and Cal Monroe, New Hope; sister, Pam (Kevin) Berg, Northridge, CA; brother, Kelley (Nancy) Monroe, Plymouth; nephews, Justin Davis, New Hope, Joel Monroe, Oshkosh, WI. She also enjoyed five loving grandchildren.
Terri was active in community groups, her church, and the Rotary International service club where she received several awards as Outstanding Rotarian of the Year in the Brainerd Rotary Club and at the multi-state district level.
Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers. Terri's favorites include: Grace UMC Music Department, Relay For Life, American Cancer Society, and SJMC (Essentia) Oncology Department.
