Tamara “Tammy” Sue Hayes, age 44, of Breezy Point, gained her wings on April 15, 2014, while fighting her battle at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was born in the month of love, February 28, 1970, to Mary Kaasa. On June 10, 1989, Tammy was happily blessed in marriage to John F. Hayes and less than a year later they were blessed with their first child, Amanda, who was followed by Michelle and the youngest, Evan. To this day, Tammy has been known for her passion to educate and care for young children. She worked full time at Honey Tree Child Care Center for the past several years, and before that worked diligently with the elementary schools of Albany and Avon. She will also be remembered for her passion for reading and her spirited laugh that could be heard from miles around. Since her battle with cancer, Tammy has taken in a little lost soul--her silly kitten, Hope. She became a beacon of hope for the whole family. Tammy will forever be loved and surely missed.
Tammy is survived by her husband, John Hayes; her three children, Amanda, Michelle, Evan; and her two younger brothers, John and Clint Rausch.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Kaasa; and her grandparents, Paul and Lottie Donias.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Tuesday, April 22, at St. Alice Catholic Church, Pequot Lakes. Burial will follow at Pelican Woods Cemetery, Breezy Point. Visitation will be Monday, April 21, from 5 to 8 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
