Tad Hoskins

Tad Hoskins, age 56, of Brainerd passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at his home. Tad’s memorial service will be Saturday, October 7 at 11 am, at Lakeview Community Church in Hillman. Visitation will be Friday, October 6, from 5-7 pm, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, and will continue on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Hillman.

Tad V. Hoskins, age 56 of Brainerd, passed away at his home on Friday, September 29, 2017 with his family beside him. He was born February 22, 1961 to Allen and Phyllis Hoskins. He grew up in Hillman on the family’s 100-acre farm. He graduated from Onamia High School in 1979 and then moved to Little Falls where he worked at the Post Office, Larson Boats, and Custom Printing. Tad attended Central Lakes College (CLC) for two years before working as an Operation Manager for 10 years at Helgeson Development Company (HDC) in Sartell. For the past ten years, he has been the owner of Tad Hoskins Construction and Brainerd Handyman. During this time, Tad repaired and remodeled countless homes and cabins in the Brainerd Lakes Area. He was also a very active member of BNI and the Noon Sertoma Club. Tad was selfless in his life and always put the needs of others first. Many family members and friends benefitted from his construction knowledge and his willingness to work on the weekends. They will always be thankful and will always remember his funny smile, his wacky sense of humor and love of country music.

Tad is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jane; children Jennifer (Bojan), Marie (Marty), Shane, Caleb, Seth and grandchildren: Teodora, Marko, Christian, Aubrey, Drew, and Abigail; siblings, Cindy (Jerry) Ralston, Kevin (Cheryl) Hoskins, Lori Hoskins, Julie (Steve) Reis, Sue (Dave) Congdon, and Kathy (Joe) Faust III. He is also survived by Matthew, Daniel, Zach and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Noa Wirth. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.

Visitation Friday, October 6, 5-7 pm, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, and continuing at the church during the hour before the funeral.
