Sylvia Nelson

Sylvia A. Nelson, 89, of Brainerd died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. She was born December 26, 1913 in Waldorf, MN to Christian and Martha (Rush) Walther. She moved with her family to Deer Park, WI, where she grew up. Her family moved to Brainerd in the late 1930?s, and she worked at the Creamery her dad managed. In 1957 she was married to Roy Nelson in Brainerd. She also lived in Motley, Forest Lake, and Wayzata. She had been a resident of Bethany Good Samaritan Village for the past year.
Sylvia Nelson is survived by her son Gary (Mary) Olson of Nisswa; three grandchildren Jeff Olson, Julie Vogel, and Todd Trout; seven great-grandchildren Angela, Tommy, and Jack Olson, Payton and Layne Vogel, and Cameron and Cassandra Trout; and a sister Verona Levinson of Mission Hills, CA. Her parents, her husband, an infant son James, and a brother Carl preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 1, 2003, 11:00 AM at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village chapel, with Reverend Curt Weid officiating. Friends may call at the nursing home for one hour prior to the service. Spring interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park, WI.
