Susan Snavely

Susan Marie Snavely passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, surrounded by family. Susan was born on June 18, 1969, in St. Paul, MN, to James and Karen (Crimmins) Lee. The majority of her early life was spent in St. Paul, and she graduated from St. Paul Central High School. For the last 25 years she spent her life in the Pine River/Backus area where she raised her three boys with her husband Steven, Sr. 

Susan was always known to be the life of the party. She had an infectious laugh that could be heard throughout the room. Susan enjoyed her time with family and friends. She is missed deeply by all. 
Susan most recently worked in the Pine River-Backus School Cafeteria and loved to see all of the kids each day. She was looking forward to returning this year as she formed many meaningful relationships with her co-workers before her unfortunate passing. In her free time Susan enjoyed spending time with her family. Some of her favorite activities included being at a ball field, taking her grandkids to the waterpark, spending time with her beloved dog Carley, making different crafts, fishing, and working in her garden. 

Susan is survived and loved by her husband, Steven, Sr.; sons: Steven, Jr. (Ashley), Ryan (Krysta), and Benjamin; sister, Julie (Brian); brother, David (Michelle); grandchildren, Kyra and Havyn; her step-grandchildren: Summer, Carter, Hailey, Taylor, Landon, Conner, and Kegan; as well as many other family members. Preceded in death by grandfather, Edward; grandmother, Opal; father, James; and mother, Karen.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 30, at the Nazarene Church in Backus. Visitation will be at 11am followed by the Service at 12 pm. Monetary donations are preferred in lieu of flowers.
