Susan Beck

Susan (Anderson) Beck, of Baxter, MN died at her home on Thursday, June 26, 2014 surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was looking forward to seeing Jesus and getting her new healthy heavenly body. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, MN. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.

Susan was born on April 14, 1951 in Brainerd, MN to Richard and Vivian (Holst) Anderson. She grew up in Emily, MN on Little Trout Lake where she spent her childhood swimming and playing outdoors. She graduated from Crosby Ironton High School in 1969. She attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth and graduated from Central Lakes College in Brainerd. On September 1, 1973 she married Scott N. Beck in Nisswa, MN. Her early-married years were spent in Emily. In 1986 she and Scott moved to Baxter where they built a home on Whipple Lake. Until the start of her illness, she was employed at Lutheran Social Services in Brainerd. Susie loved boating, bobbing in the lake, and every dog she ever met. She had a wonderful circle of close friends, friendships that lasted for decades. Susan was a woman full of light, laughter, and faith in Jesus Christ.

Susan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Scott; two daughters, September (Gabe) Leon of Brainerd, MN and Briana (Matt) Scalo of Maple Grove, MN; grandson, Sam Scalo; sister, Diane (Glenn) Resch of Emily, MN; and niece, Holly (Cory) Pelarski of Vernon Hills, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Vivian Anderson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
