Steven Haste

Steven R. Haste, 54, of Motley died at his home on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

Steve endured two and a half years of small cell lung cancer with faith and much bravery. His wishes were to be cremated without a funeral.

Steven was born on November 17, 1958 in Wadena, MN to Theodore and Olive (Wilson) Haste. Steve attended Staples High School. He worked for three companies in his life; FMC, Ricks' Cabinets and Furniture, and for the last ten years at Tri-City Paving. His crew will fondly remember Steve as radio. Steve married Lisa Ann Faber on December 12, 1987 at Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, MN. Steve was a gentle soul who was a friend to all. He greatly loved and cared for his family, and his home in the woods. Papa (Steve) was in his glory while spending time with Natalie and Carter, his grandbabies. Fishing, baseball, motorcycles, and arguing politics were some of his enjoyments.

Steve is survived by his wife, Lisa; children, Corey Haste, Morgan Haste, and Elijah (Betsy) Sarbaum; mother, Olive; grandchildren, Natalie and Carter Sarbaum; siblings, Ted and Dennis (Holly) Haste; and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore; and brother, Jeff. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
