Steven “Steve” Charles Eide (71) of Brainerd, Minnesota, born November 23, 1949, to Charles (Carl) and Florence (Haux) Eide. Steve lost his battle with ALS and went to heaven peacefully on March 23, 2021 surrounded in prayer by his family. Visitation will be Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2pm-5pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter. Mass of Christian burial will be 12pm Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Interment will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
His family and friends would describe Steve as one of the “Greats”. He was an incredibly humble, selfless, dedicated, loving, brave, strong, talented, kind, and grateful man.
Steve retired in 2004, after 34 years of service, with the Minnesota National Guard (Camp Ripley) where he was a heavy equipment mechanic. In his “spare” time, Steve enjoyed building homes, dirt track racing, classic car restoration, riding motorcycle, Snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and most importantly spending time with his family.
Steve was an active philanthropist severing time over his life with the Brainerd Archery Club, Baxter Snowmobile Club, Northern Tin Car Club, as well as his years of dedication to the Brainerd American Legion Post 255 which included time as Commander.
Survived by his wife Monica of 47 years, his children Jim Eide, Aaron (Brandee) Eide, and Kathy (Tom) Hamlin. His granddaughters; Teagan (Cade), Taylor, Madeline, Kandice (Travis), Samantha, Peyton, Kasey, and great granddaughter Mackenzie. His brother Bruce (Shelley) Eide. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Florence.
