Sterling Spicer

November 10, 1957 — March 2, 2017

Sterling Spicer, age 59, of Brainerd was promoted to Glory on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Heritage House in Pequot Lakes, following a courageous battle with cancer. Sterling’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 11, at 10:30 AM, at The Journey North Church in Baxter. Friends and family may visit during the hour prior to services.
Sterling Edwin Spicer was born November 10, 1957 in Minneapolis, the son of Franklin and Evelyn (Peters) Spicer. After graduating from Faribault Senior High School, he moved to Brainerd. He worked in the food service industry, and then worked for Greg Larson Sports. Sterling was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and softball. He also coached youth football, and was a member of the Rodbenders fishing club. His dogs, Buck and Billy, were especially important to him, and were loved companions throughout their lives.
Sterling will be remembered and missed by his daughter, Lanay (DJ) Asmus, of Morris; his siblings, Janice (Ronald) Sederholm, of Coon Rapids, Deanna Kimbrough, of Hudson, Florida, Joan (Gary) Sanford, of Oronoco, Steven Spicer, of Faribault, Stuart Spicer, of Faribault, and Denese (Michel) Bremer, of Faribault; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; a brother-in-law, Robert Kimbrough; and his beloved dogs, Buck and Billy. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
