Stephen Zilka

Stephen "Steve" Zilka, 46, of Crosslake died Saturday evening, February 6, 2010. Visitation will be at Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday February 12, 2010. Funeral services for Stephen will be held Saturday February 13, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Crosslake "Log Church". Internment will be at Pinewood Cemetery. Stephen was born on June 21, 1963 at USAF Hospital Chanute, Chanute AFB, Illinois to Ronald and Nancy (Sandberg) Zilka. He moved to St. Paul, Minnesota with his parents at an early age. Stephen attended St. Paul Technical Institute also known as TVI, graduating as an electrician. Stephen purchased Larson Electric in Crosslake, which he operated until the time of his death. Stephen met Rebecca Cordero and they were united into marriage on June 29, 1991 in Crosslake, Minnesota. Steve enjoyed the outdoors. He especially loved fishing,snowmobiling, boating, 4- wheeling, and motorcycling. Stephen is survived by his wife, Rebecca; daughters, Rebecca (Isidro) Palomino of Cherry Point, North Carolina and Tania (Ryan) Heath of St. Cloud, Minnesota; sister Kris (Kelly) Greer of Atlanta, Georgia; his mother Nancy Zilka also of Atlanta, Georgia; and 5 grandchildren; Eli, Marcus, Sebastian, Elijah, and Taina. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Ronald.
