Stephen Dabill

Steve Dabill, age 70, of Baxter, and formerly Pine River, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013, at his home after a short battle with cancer. He was born to Everett and Margaret Dabill on July 16, 1943, in rural Pine River. Steve married Julie Oberfell on June 24, 1965, in Cass Lake, and lived and raised their three children in the Pine River area until moving to Baxter in 1997.

Steve was a lifelong and talented horseman, carpenter, hunter and motorcycle enthusiast, recently and proudly joining the Eagles Riders Club. He loved the outdoors, deer hunting and his love of children made him "grandpa" to many.

Steve is survived by his children: Richard (Anna) Dabill, Cindy Dabill, Kim (Larry) Gearns; special friend of seven years, Renee Caldwell; brother, Jesse (Rita) Dabill; sisters: Esther Dabill, Martha (Larry) Malewiski, Eunice (Keith) Beacham, Rachel (Bill Johnson) Dabill, Arlene (Bruce Bernard) Dabill, Becky (Bill) Foote, and Phebe (Doug) Klobnak; 9 grandchildren: Brandon (Jamie), Chelsey , Devon (Morgan), Nicole (Ryan), Alicia , Cassandra , Ashley (Seth), Lindsey and Stevie; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Julie; and brother, Stanley.

Services will be 2 PM, Sunday, December 29, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
