Stanley Sprenger, age 73, of Pine River passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center, Pine River. He was born July 30, 1936 to Anton and Helen Sprenger in New Ulm. He attended Rural District 9 school in New Ulm and served two years in the U.S. Army. Stanley worked as a mason all of his life. He married Mary Rathman on April 22, 1969. Mary passed away on November 10, 1981. He married Delores Sellner Janni on May 4, 1984. They moved to Pine River in 1987 where Stanley continued his masonry work in the area. He enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, playing cards and his garden.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Delores; stepson, Dennis Janni; sisters: Elaine Kachelmeier, Roslyn Kuck (John), Helen Wallner (Gary); brothers: Wilbert Sprenger (Marion), Anton Sprenger (Rose Ann), Clarence Sprenger (Joyce); and sister-in-law, Marie Sprenger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary; brother, Donald Sprenger; sister-in-law, Patricia Sprenger; and brother-in-law, Anthony Kachelmeier.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, May 5 at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Services will be 11 AM on Friday, May 7, at Holy Trinity Cathedral, New Ulm, with Father John Richter officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
