Stanley Alois Harris was born January 7, 1927 in St. Paul, to Benjamin and Ann (Novak) Harris. Following his education he served in the US Army at Ft. Benning, Georgia, where he attended parachute school. When his father died he was discharged home to care for his family. After his military service he worked in the iron ore mines in Crosby for a time, before moving to the metro area, where he worked in construction. Most recently he lived at Woodland Good Samaritan Village, first in assisted living and, then in the nursing home. Stans family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Woodland staff for the wonderful care their father received from them. Stanley was a gentleman, always caring about others. He had the gift of being able to find humor in everyday things. He enjoyed visiting with others and had many friends, including a large stuffed animal collection. His family was the most important thing in his life. He will be deeply missed; may he rest in peace.
Stanley is survived by his children, Pamela (Larry), Christensen, Brainerd, Shireen Harris, Brainerd, Joy (Larry) Schultz, Brainerd, and Marc Harris, Colorado Springs, CO; a brother, Robert (MaryLou) Harris, St. Cloud; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
