Stanalene Horn

Stanalene June Horn, age 82, of rural Pillager passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at her home. Her funeral service will be Wednesday, May 24, beginning at 11 AM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with Fr. Paul Strommer officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit during the hour prior to the service. Interment will follow, at Bridgeman Cemetery near Pillager.

Stanalene was born on June 16, 1934 in Chicago, to Stanley and Bessie (Pustelnik) Cichanski. She was married to Thiel Horn on October 19, 1959 in Oak Park, Illinois. She worked in Human Resources and Finance at GTE Electric Company. The couple moved to Pillager in 1997. After selling their home on Gull Lake, they built a home on Thiel’s family farm, in the Casino area. Stanalene loved her toy poodles, and enjoyed fishing. She cherished the peace and solitude of spending time in nature.

Stanalene is survived by a sister, Beverly Leannah; her stepchildren, Larry Horn and Vera Horn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Thiel; and a sister, Lorraine Carpenter. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
