Shirley, known as Flip at Faribault High, worked as a dental assistant and volunteered at a local hospital. She married Frank McCarthy in 1948. They traveled the country visiting all the states except Alaska. Although they resided in Sleepy Eye, Minnetonka, Cloquet, Virginia, and Duluth; the "Lake" was always home. They shared a love of golf, tennis, bowling, and Scotch. Yes, Scotch, blendedmalt.
Shirley liked to have fun and her passion was playing cards. Most who knew her shared a hand of Blackjack, Bridge, Euchre, Gin, 500, Cribbage, or Poker and more than likely lost a little cash to her coffer. She accumulated numerous Masterpoints in bridge. Mom always liked to say: "I did my damndest". You did Mom, and you did it well!
We love and miss you.
