Shirley Heidecker

Shirley Ann Heidecker, 67, of East Gull Lake, died peacefully at her home Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM, Friday, March 1 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Keith Bertram officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather beginning at 10 AM at the church. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in New Brighton, MN.

Shirley was born May 21, 1945, in Little Falls, the daughter of Lucien and Esther (Kowalski) Sowada. She married Keith Heidecker on August 29, 1964. She enjoyed volunteering at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center, traveling, playing cards, and reading.

She will be missed by her husband, Keith; children, Pam Heidecker, of Champlin, Rich Heidecker, of Crosslake, and Leah Lewis, of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Kala, Elliot, Neco, Tommy, Jimmy, and Michael; and sisters, Joyce (George) Swanson, of Little Falls, Audrey (Jerry) Majerus, of Little Falls, and Rebecca (Ron) Schmidt, of Burtrum. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Ronald McDonald House Charity 608 Ontario Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414.
