Shelly Kay Peters, 48, of Pequot Lakes, died Friday, November 2, 2007 at the St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. There will be a visitation Sunday afternoon, November 4 from 2 until 4 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday, November 5 at the Merrifield Community Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.

Shelly Kay was born July 28, 1959 in Marshall, MN, the daughter of Richard and Janice (Raveling) Peters. She attended and graduated from Milroy Public Schools before attending Granite Falls Vocational and Technical College where she received a degree as an optometric assistant. She moved in the Brainerd area in 1978. Shelly was a member of the Merrifield Community Church of the Nazarene where she also served on the board. She enjoyed and cherished the time she was able to spend with her daughter, Shantel and all her family and friends.

Shelly will be missed by her daughter, Shantel; her parents, Richard and Janice Peters, of Nevis (formerly of Milroy); her sisters, Brenda Wurst, of Waconia and Sue Peters, of Marshall; her nieces, Amanda Wurst, Kayla Wurst, and Kelly Lund; and her maternal grandmother, Lucille Raveling, of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy Lund; her maternal grandfather, Ralph Raveling; and her paternal grandparents, Richard and Alma Peters.
