Sheila Stevens, 55, of Motley passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 28, 2014 at her home in Motley, MN. Funeral services for Sheila will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Motley United Methodist Church in Motley, MN with Pastor Greg Ciesluck officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN and one hour prior to services at the church.
Sheila was born on April 4, 1958 in Willmar, MN to David and Arline F. (Christianson) Nelson. She grew up and attended school in Atwater, MN and graduated in 1976. Sheila, who was the love of his life, married Mike Stevens on October 30, 1976 at Motley United Methodist Church in Motley, MN. She was a life long exceptional cook, sold real estate, and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Sheila and her loving husband Mike of 37 years owned and operated a restaurant, Mr. Ed’s, together in Motley. Sheila and Mike were blessed with two beautiful children, Kelly and Kyle and four wonderful grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brennan, Brolin and Tristan, whom she loved very much. Sheila was always full of life and compassion and truly enjoyed her time with family and especially her grandchildren. She remained strong throughout her battle with Lupus, which she endured since she was seven years old.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Mike; children Kelly (Jeff) McPhail of Carlos, MN, Kyle (Toni) Stevens of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Tristan, Brooklyn, Brennan, Brolin; mother, Arline; brother, Norman; many nieces and nephews and her loving dog, Max. She is preceded in death by her father, David and her grandparents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
