Sheila Fox

Jesus came and took Sheila Ellen (Bouchie) Fox from her Nisswa home to her new heavenly home on Monday, March 10, 2025, after a long five-year battle with a mystery illness. She was 55.

Sheila was born Dec. 23, 1969, to Duane and Kay (LaPlant) Bouchie, in Grand Rapids. She was raised in the Sanborn/Lamberton area. After moving to Grand Rapids, she worked at McDonald’s where she met her husband, James Fox. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1988. James and Sheila married in 1990 in Grand Rapids. They lived in St. Cloud for five years where she was a hairdresser. They moved back to Grand Rapids in 1995 when her dad needed kidney dialysis and she helped care for him. She continued working as a hairdresser there. She also worked at Shaw Florists in Grand Rapids delivering flowers. They moved to Nisswa in 1999 and have lived there ever since. She did at-home daycare and continued to do so while being a stay-at-home mom to their three miracles, Jackalyn, Derek and Vanessa. Most recently, she was the secretary at Christ Community Church where she was an affiliate for 26 years. James and Sheila loved to go racing and loved to travel. She loved being a mom more than anything especially after being told for years she couldn’t have children. Sheila loved coffee. She was a self-proclaimed coffee snob. She always loved shopping for good bargains.

She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter, Jackalyn, 22, who is engaged to be married to Jack Anderson in 2026; a son, Derek, 19; and daughter, Vanessa, 13; two brothers, Brian Bouchie, Coleraine; and Ken Bouchie, Hibbing; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Cheryl; and a brother, Brad.

A Celebration of Life will be March 22, at Christ Community Church in Nisswa.
