Sheila Jean Finley (Cox) passed away on January 21, 2010 after a nine-month battle with cancer. She was born in Fairfield, Iowa on December 7th, 1948, to Marilyn Jean Cox (Turner) and Dean Albert Cox. Sheila was the oldest of five kids. She was the mother of three children and the grandmother to four. She loved to fish and boat as much as possible. In her recent years she waitressed at the Corner Café in Backus and enjoyed all of the friends she made while there.
She is survived by her daughter, Adeline (Wendell) Maine, Pequot Lakes; and two sons, CB Finley and Robert Anderson, both of Pine River; four grandchildren Taylor Olson-Finley, James and Matthias Maine, and Andrew Finley; mother, Marilyn Starkson, Indiana; sisters: Sherri (Mark) Tradup, Carol Porter; brothers, Butch and Wally Cox; and many more beloved in-laws from her previous marriage to James Finley (deceased). She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.
A special thank you goes out to the Good Samaritan Hospice agency in Nisswa and the Good Neighbor Agency in Baxter for all of the wonderful support and care they gave to her in her daughter's home. You do a wonderful job of taking care of the family also.
According to Sheila's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 30th, with a lunch to follow, at the Pleasant Hill Community Church, rural Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.
