Sharon Lee Squires, born August 25, 1946 in Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023 in Pillager, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was married to her husband Jim for 56 years and was the proud mother of two sons, Jason and Clint, and their wives Pam and Annette. She was also the adoring grandmother of five grandchildren, Samantha, Nick, Cameron, Garret, Avery, and many other loving friends and family members. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Bob Cook and her mother, Edna Havlik Cook. She is also survived by her younger sister, Sandy Cook of Bemidji and numerous cousins. She grew up attending Bemidji High School and Bemidji State University, and had a passion to attend her Class of 1964 Class reunions.

Sharon was passionate about reading, the theater, ice skating and genealogy. She worked for the state of Minnesota for 40 years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Sharon was an avid traveler and enjoyed visiting national parks and taking a cruise to the Bahamas with her ‘Bahama Mamas’.

Sharon was a kind and gentle soul who was always there for her family and friends. She was a great listener and always had a kind word of advice and a smile. She was a great cook and loved to entertain. She was a strong and loving woman who will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and strength.

Sharon will be missed terribly by her extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s hospital, especially the nurses on the 3rd and 6th floor.

Services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Brainerd on Saturday January 6th, 2024, at 11:00am.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
