Sharon Smith

Sharon Arlene Smith, 72, of Thief River Falls, formerly of Baxter, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 14 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples. Family and friends are welcome one-hour prior to services.

Sharon was born May 29, 1943 in Staples, MN, the daughter of Lloyd and Ida Farber. Following her high school graduation, Sharon married Tim Gould. In this union they adopted two daughters. The family lived in Thief River Falls and Sharon worked at Artic Cat for many years. In 2001, she married Roland Smith and moved to Baxter. She enjoyed her retirement and was often found quilting. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd.

She will be missed by her daughters, Melissa "Missy" (John) Azure, of Thief River Falls and Kelly Anttila, of Grand Forks, ND; four grandchildren, Michael Azure, Avery Azure, Baylor Anttila, and Brooks Anttila; and siblings, Art (Carol), of Motley, Darlene of Jordan, and Mike (Donna), of Motley; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tim; second husband, Roland; her parents; and her sister, Delores.
