Sharon Rother

Sharon (Schouveller) Rother, age 81, of Nisswa, MN passed away surrounded by her loving family at home on December 29, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, MN. There will be a Visitation at 10:00 AM, and Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Lunch and Fellowship will follow. A second funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Mendota, Minnesota. A visitation will be at 10 AM and a prayer service will begin at 11 AM with lunch and fellowship to follow. Burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.

Sharon, nicknamed by her friends as “Shoes”, was born on October 29, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN to Jerome and Lorraine (Elstad) Schouveller. After graduating from High School, Sharon married Donald Rother in August of 1961. She worked at Miller Hospital and the Masonic Home, but spent 22 years of her working career at Bakers Square as a baker.

Sharon had a passion for bowling, she loved her Hosta garden and her flower gardens, pontoon rides, and trips to Hawaii.

She is preceded in death by Baby James, her father Jerome, her mother Lorraine, and her sister Kathy Loga.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Don, her children Susan, Donald Jr. (Joy), John, Patricia (Jamie) Thompson, and Paul (Tracie), twelve grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Sharon’s family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the staff and nurses with Heartland Hospice for their care and support.
