Sharon Hauger

Sharon F. Hauger, 72, of Pequot Lakes, passed away on April 24, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes at 11 AM on Thursday, April 28, with Father George Zeck officiating. Lunch will immediately follow the funeral service. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM with prayer service at 8 PM, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.

Sharon Faye Hauger, oldest of seven daughters was born April 21, 1939, to Gunder and Ethelyn Johnson of Marietta, MN. Following, graduation at St. Cloud State, she taught elementary school for a number of years. On June 25, 1966, she married her best friend and partner in life, Henry Hauger. Family, teaching and farming were constant in their lives whether they lived in Buffalo, Alexandria or their final residence, Ranch of High Hopes in Pequot Lakes. They raised two daughters on their family farm, Heide and Terri.

With a passion for life, Sharon created a strong close knit family and served as a 4-H leader and also served on the FSA Board, 4-H Extension, Zoning and Planning Board, was a member of the Minnesota Cowbells, Red Hat Society and was active in their church. Sharon's zest for life was also seen in her love for flowers, fishing, cooking and canning. As a ranch wife she was a wonder worker with finances and managing the farrowing barn.

Sharon Hauger is survived by her husband, Henry and two daughters, Heide (Craig) Settevig and Terri (Patrick) Foster of Pequot Lakes and her four grandchildren who adored her: Christopher, Ashley, Matthew, and Nicholas Foster. Sharon is survived by 4 sisters: Ethel (Marlowe) Shelstad of Madison, Marilyn (John) Carlson of Merrifield, Nancy (Owen) Johnson of Pine River and JoAnn (Daniel) Roth of Mantorville, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
