Seydelle Johnson

Seydelle P. Johnson was called home to be with her Lord on January 8, 2017 in Brainerd, MN. Services for Seydelle will be held at11:00AM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, MN, with visitation for one hour before the service.

She was born to Reverend William B. and Ruth S. Horne in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Most of her childhood and early adult life was spent in North Carolina and Florida where she was employed in office management and as a receptionist. In 1952, she married Mitchel D. Johnson and moved to Montana and later to Minnesota where she lived for 60 years.

Seydelle and Mitchel had three children, Cindi Rae Ingberg (now deceased), Gregg M. Johnson (Laurie) of Lake Shore, MN and Kimberly K. Firkus (Dana) of Pequot Lakes, MN; six grandchildren, Luke Ingberg, Devlan Ingberg (Rachel), Kati Ingberg, Kirk Johnson (Amanda), Derek Johnson (Sara) and Trista Cameron (Jake); ten great-grandchildren, Victoria and Ethan Ingberg, twins, Zachary and Kaylee Hall, Aria Hall, Reece, Zoey, and Ellie Cameron, Selah Ingberg, and Roman Johnson. She is also survived by one sister, Jan Hale of Woodbury, TN, and was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Cindi Rae; and two brothers.

Seydelle enjoyed family, games, puzzles, reading, and church activities. She also served in several areas of leadership over the years at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church including 11 years as office secretary (1977-1988). She was active in Sewing for Missions and in past years had served as pianist for various churches.

Seydelle will be interred at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery near Camp Ripley.

Seydelle’s Christian faith during her life was of utmost importance to her. Her favorite scripture is Psalms 91 and Life verse was-

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make straight your paths.
