Scott Nelson

Scott Edward Nelson, born in Robbinsdale, on April 6, 1961, passed away on Sunday, July 2, at age 62 years old.

Scott was a 1980 Anoka Senior High graduate and lived in Anoka, Elk River, and Verndale as well as Oregon, Nevada, and California. He was in a bicycle accident in October of 2000 in Elk River and was left severely injured. He spent part of his life in a nursing home in Staples until heading to orange county California in 2013. After nine years of nursing home life in Orange County, he was moved back to his hometown of Anoka in March of 2022. He spent the remainder of his years in his own home with the help of PCA’s and family care. Scott enjoyed many travels along the way including cruising to Alaska, Mexico and Hawaii. He lived a good life despite his disabilities. A lover of music, he played drums & enjoyed singing karaoke. He was also a willing helper to all.

Scott is survived by his mother Gloria (Johnson) Stone; sisters, Jacquelyn Nelson, Linda (Nelson) Kriesel, and Joelle (Stone) Alvord (Warren Alvord); as well as multiple family members.  He is preceeded in death by father Warren C. Nelson, Step-father Ebbie C. Stone, and Nephew Jarvis J. Hartfiel.  May they all rest in peace.  

Services will be held at 1pm on Monday, July 10^{th at} the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples with a visitation starting one hour prior.
