Scott Markus

Scott Markus, 56, of Motley, MN died Saturday, August 1, 2015. A Memorial Gathering for Scott will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 5:00-7:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN, with a prayer service at 6:30PM.

Scott was born April 16, 1959 to Ralph and Glennadean (Hayes) Markus in Brainerd, MN. He graduated from high school in Hilo, Hawaii and later returned back to Motley with his family, where he spent most of his life. Scott was united in marriage to Barb Blessing on May 30, 1981. He spent most of his working career at Morey Fish Company in Motley, MN. Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, biking, being outdoors, music, and helping others.

Scott is survived by his wife, Barb; mother, Glennadean of Motley; sons, Jared of Maple Grove, MN, Christopher of Fargo, ND; two grandchildren; sisters, Rhonda (John Tanner) Baptiste of East Gull Lake, MN and Michele Baptiste of Hawaii; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; step father, Vern Baptiste and grandparents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
