Scott Case, age 55, of Staples, passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Friday, March 13. Services will be on Thursday, March 19, at 1:00 PM, at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with Pastor Steve Sveom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Scott was born on November 7, 1953, in Staples, to Alan and Nancy (Spencer) Case. He graduated from Staples High School in 1972. He attended the Detroit Lakes VoTec for two years to study drafting. He worked for a few years out in New Hampshire before returning to Minnesota to work in the Twin Cities. In 1981 he married Trudy, and they had two sons. Scott loved music, teaching himself to play the guitar, the outdoors and fishing. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cyril and Lillie Case and Daniel and Marion Spencer, and an infant twin brother. He is survived by his sons, Alan of Montrose, and Christopher (Sarah) of Howard Lake; grandchildren, Bailey, Logan, Carter, and Lily; parents, Alan and Nancy of Staples; siblings, Brian (Brenda) of Waconia, Nancy (Greg) Koval of Browerville, Liz (Ted) Kraemer of Osakis, and Dayna (Gary) Mertens of Staples; nephews, Matt, Josh, Justin, and Danny; and nieces, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Allison.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
