Sara Twardowski

Sara Rae MertensTwardowski, age 26, of Staples, passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Friday Dec. 1st. Mass will be on Tuesday Dec 5 at 11:00 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, with Father Peter Kirchner officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples. Sara Rae was born on June 8, 1980 in Fargo, ND. She grew up in Staples and has lived there all her life. She attended Staples Motley High School and graduated in 1998. After school she went to work for Seafest in Motley where she met Trevor Bettis. Together they had two children. Sara Rae loved all animals, especially horses, fishing, and above all, her children. Sara Rae will be sadly missed by her daughters, Minette and Katelyne; long time boyfriend and father of her children, Trevor Bettis; her mother, Charlotte Stern; brother, Brent Mertens; sister, Ginger Wellnitz; 3 half brothers; 3 half sisters; grandmother, Sarah Johnson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Blahosky; step father, Robert BobMertens; and grandfather Lyle Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to her children. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
