Sara "Toots" M. Ellstrom, 96, of Baxter, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Essentia Health/St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Private interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Brainerd.
Sara was born on July 27, 1915 in Shevlin, Minnesota to Conrad and Annetta (Volden) Julin. Sara and her parents later moved to Bagley, Minnesota. She was united into marriage with Alfred Ellstrom on August 26, 1939 in Bagley, Minnesota. Sara and Alfred moved to Brainerd in 1942. She was a homemaker and worked at Vans Café and A&W as a cook for sixteen years. Sara was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shevlin. She enjoyed craft work, knitting, making quilts, and crocheting.
Sara is survived by Sandra (Alfred) Wilette of Sun City, Arizonia, Evelynne (Clayton) Robinson of Baxter, Minnesota, and Douglas (Sandra) Ellstrom of Lakeland, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; seventeen great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Sara was preceded in death by her parents, John Conrad and Annetta; and her husband, Alfred; two brothers, Clifford and Elmer; and seven sisters, Hazel, Edna, Myrtle, Martha, Lonnie, Thelma, and Elda.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
