Sandra Powell

Sandra Katherine Powell (Moats) 65, of Brainerd, MN died unexpectedly in her sleep at home on November 5, 2018. Sandy is survived by her husband Cye Powell; her children Cassandra Moats, Ashley (Justin) Cheatwood and Whitney Powell. Grandsons; Jacob Cheatwood and Mark Tomte. Siblings; Barbara (Michael) Denardo, Diane (Michael) Rosenow, Douglas (Roberta) Moats, Susie (Tom) Dunn. She is preceded in death by her Grandson Jace Conway Cheatwood, her Father, Mervin Troy Moats, her mother Margaret Jane (Sharpe) Moats and her brother Daniel Lee Moats.

Sandy was born on November 19, 1952 at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Mervin “Smokey” and Margaret “Jane” Moats. She grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from South High School. She married Cye Powell on December 10, 1986, she has three beautiful daughters that she loved dearly, she truly adored and treasured her precious grandsons with all her heart. Sandy will be deeply missed by her family and friends, she had wonderful and funny sense of humor along with a very quick wit, a deep passion and love for her many sweet animals (including Philip her parrot), loved gardening and the outdoors, she was someone who loved life and someone we will never forget.

There is no funeral service planned at this time. I lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
