Sandra Lee (Nygard) Loechler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend passed away peacefully on January 28, 2008, at the age of 65 surrounded by her family as she wished. Sandy courageously battled a rare cancer, pseudo myxoma peritoei (PMP) for more than ten years. Survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Tom Loechler; her sons, Joel (Doreen) and Jon (Natalie) Godfredson; stepdaughters, Laura (Mark) Daly, Jane Loechler, Susan (Mark) Thompson, and Beth Loechler; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Irleine (Keith) Weismann; her siblings, Elaine (John) Teschner, Pat (Tom) Montgomery, Bill (Kathleen) Nygard, and Jim (Kathy) Nygard; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Nygard.
Sandra was born and raised in Northeast Minneapolis, spending her childhood in the Mississippi Courts. She attended Patrick Henry High School and continued her education at North Park College in Chicago, the U of M, and Augsburg College.
She was a multifaceted person with many talents. She loved the arts, drama, literature, film; and opera; her gardening skills earned her a justifiable green thumblabel. She was a tenacious competitor at tennis, golf, volleyball, and softball; bridge was a true passion for her, she spent many enjoyable hours at the bridge table with her groups in Minnesota and Florida. She loved being outdoors, skiing, birding, and fishing in her beloved Lake Ossawinnamakee.
Most of all, she loved her family, always ready to open the lake home to countless friends and family. She will be missed by many.
