Sander "Sandy" Erickson

Sander “Sandy” Erickson, 101, of Brainerd, MN died Thursday, February 6, 2020 at his home. Visitation will be held 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday February 9 ^th at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 10 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with visitation 1 hour before service. Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

He was the most caring, kind, and loving man. He loved to see his grand and great grandchildren come to visit. Sander proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. One of his most prized possessions was the house he hand built on Lake Ossawinnamakee. Sander belonged to many fraternal organizations including American Legion Post 49, Minnehaha Lodge 165, Zurah Shrine, Scottish Rite, and Fleet Reserve Association.

Survived by his wife Lois, two daughters Linda (Barry) Bloomgren, Jody (Todd) Bjerknes; grandchildren, Kelsey (Dan) Farmer, Britta Bjerknes (Steve Kawecki), Barry Bloomgren Jr, David (Jenna) Bloomgren; eight great grandchildren, Jackson, Eden, and Crosby Farmer, Amelia and James Mae Kawecki, Hendrick, Owen and Annie Bloomgren; brother-in-law Don (Marylaine) Phillips. Sandy was preceded in death by brothers Edwin, Earl, & Arnold; sisters Martha, Beatrice, & Ruth; and first wife Bernice.
