Sadie Tramm

Sadie Marie (Crider) Tramm, 96, of Staples died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. A celebration of a life well lived will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Staples United Methodist Church in Staples, with Pastor Greg Ciesluk officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather beginning at 11:00 AM for fellowship at the church prior to services. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in Bertha, MN.

Sadie was born May 2, 1917 to John and Hattie (Williams) Crider in Clarissa, MN, where she also attended and graduated from high school. As a young woman she worked for several families in Minneapolis before getting married. Sadie married the love of her life, Delford Tramm, on September 4, 1939 in Clarissa, MN. She was a full time mother and farmer’s wife, who enjoyed providing for her family through baking, cooking and gardening. She ministered to her community through involvement in church organizations, teaching Sunday school, and supporting missionary outreach. She enjoyed decorating cakes, quilting, knitting, crocheting, reading, and later in life discovered a talent for painting.

Sadie’s legacy lives on in her children, Della Mae (Tramm) Helmer of Clear Lake, MN, Frederick Delford (Lucille Hanson) Tramm of Verndale, MN; her grandchildren and their spouses, Heather Helmer and Terry Storey of Clear Lake, MN, Terri Lynn (Tramm) and Bradley Swenson of Carlos, MN, Shawn Tramm of Staples, MN, Justin Helmer and Karla Olson of Milaca, MN; five great grandchildren whom she loved dearly; her brother-in-law Warren Bican; sister-in-law Leila Tramm; and countless nieces and nephews. She was greeted in Heaven with great shouts of joy by her parents; husband; daughter, Patty Lou; sisters, Naomi Godding, Rosemary Bican; brothers-in-law, Donaver Tramm, Carlton Tramm, and Ray Godding; and her son-in-law, Lee Helmer. Sadie’s family is grateful to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN, for their assistance with arrangements.
