Sadie Asche

Sadie Asche, age 93, of Pine River, passed away October 29, 2014. She was born to John and Rena (Marcus) Korthuis on May 8, 1921. She attended grade school at Central MN Christian School in Prinsburg and graduated from Clara City High School in 1940 as co-salutatorian. On September 5, 1940, she married the love of her life, John J. Asche of Raymond, MN.

Sadie enjoyed working outdoors on the farm and had a very large garden. She enjoyed needlework and hand sewing. In her later years she worked on "Find a Word" and enjoyed the television show Jeopardy. She frequently listened to sermons on the radio and often enjoyed her "Bible on Tape."

Sadie worked as a nursing assistant in 1965 and was in the first graduating class of Rice Memorial Hospital. After graduation she worked at Bethesda Heritage and often stayed after work to help the residents. She always loved children and was anxious to see all her unborn and stillborn children in heaven. Family was always very important to Sadie and she was in constant touch with them all and spent many hours praying for them.

Sadie is survived by her daughter, Sheri (Den) Pluimer of Breezy Point, MN; grandchildren: Joy (Chad) Bonnema of Grand Rapids, MI, Michael (Heather) Pluimer of Breezy Point, MN, Mark (Laurie) Pluimer of Appleton, WI; great grandchildren: Meikea Bonnema, Michael Pluimer, Maddie Pluimer, Ethan Pluimer, Esther Pluimer; brothers: Harold (Yvonne) Korthuis of Willmar, MN, LaVerne (Betty) Korthuis of Granite Falls, MN; sisters: Margie Lepsch of Grand Rapids, MI, Ruth Watkins of Buffalo, WY; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Joyce Marie; several unborn children; brothers: George, Ray, Dick, Clarence, John, Lubert; and sisters: Mary, Dena and Ella.

Memorials will be sent to The Children of the Promise.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, November 7, at the Raymond Christian Reformed Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Bunde Cemetery.
