Ruth Oman

Ruth Margie Oman, age 84, passed away at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls on Saturday, March 14, 2009. A funeral service is planned for Thursday, March 19, at 11:00 am at the Assembly of God Church in Staples with Pastor Roy Miles officiating. There will be a time to visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Poplar Cemetery in Leader.

Ruth was born on December 29, 1924 to James and Florence (Peterson) Dailey in Wadena, MN. She grew up on the family farm in the Poplar area and attended country school there. After graduating, Ruth moved to the Twin Cities, where she worked as a sales clerk at Daytons. It was in Minneapolis where she met and married Richard DickOman. After Dick retired they moved to Staples and then to Motley. Ruth enjoyed sewing, antiquing, and collecting stamps. She was a very generous and giving person.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; parents; siblings, Harold, Lawrence, Edward, Fred and Dorothy McCall; nephew, Jim Dailey; and niece, Linda Johnson. She is survived by her son, Larry (Linda) of Little Falls; grandchildren, Angie (Bob) Deering of St. Cloud and Brian (Valerie) of Otsego; great-grandchildren, Robert, Kristine, Erin, and August; and many nieces and nephews.
