Ruth Hewitt

Ruth Marie Hewitt, 88, of Baxter, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd, MN. Memorial Services are scheduled for 11 AM, Saturday, January 23 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Rory Swenson officiating. Friends are welcome one hour prior to services. Memorials are preferred to Park United Methodist Church.
Ruth was born July 17, 1921 in McKinley Township, MN, the daughter of Charles J. and Marie F. (Sheppard) Mitchell. After high school, Ruth worked in various office management and sales positions. She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church for 30 years. She was also involved in the VFW Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Nisswa Women of Today. She was a past president of the Nisswa Lioness. Ruth enjoyed golf and bowling.

Ruth will be missed by her son, Wallace KeithGeils, of Mount Prospect, IL; her step-son, Richard (Jenelle) Hewitt, of Brainerd, MN; her step-daughter, Barbara (Richard) Goranson, of Monticello, MN; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert E. Hewitt and her daughter, Peggy Geils.
