Ruth Forsberg

Ruth Mae “Poots” Forsberg, 93, of Pequot Lakes, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Please join them as they honor her at 12:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Timberwood Church in Nisswa with Eric Holtz officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Ruth was born December 11, 1923, in Benson, MN, the daughter of Louis and Regina (Davidson) Johnson. In 1945 she married John Forsberg in California. The couple made their home in Deephaven where they raised two daughters. Poots was very active and enjoyed golfing, tennis, and line dancing. She was a lover of cats. Poots cherished her time with her family on Clear Lake.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Roxie (Rich) Conrad, of Seattle, WA and Joy (Brad) Hogen, of Pequot Lakes; grandchildren, Lynsey (Matt), Lauren (Grant), Jennifer, and Megan; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Riley, Colin, Jackson, James, and Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brothers, Leonard and Reuben; and sister, Helen.
