Ruth Ann Clabo, 76, of Brainerd, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Oak Street Chapel in Brainerd with Pastor Todd Wooden officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather Friday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one-hour prior at the church on Saturday. Interment will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley at a later date.
Ruth was born January 23, 1939, in Aitkin County, MN, the daughter of William and Ruth (Ward) Violett. Ruth grew up in the Aitkin and Brainerd areas and attended High School in Brainerd. In 1958, she married Peter Eugene Clabo in Browerville, MN. She was a homemaker and a mom who extended her love to all those in need. Ruth enjoyed knitting, embroidery, crocheting, sewing, hand-painting, and dancing. Ruth was proud of being a lifetime member of the Brainerd American Legion Auxiliary, Post 255.
She will be missed by her husband, Peter; children, Dan Clabo, Dawn (Ricky) Ridgeway, and Lynette (Ed) Camara; grandchildren, Jim (Erica) Clabo and Darren Clabo; siblings, Milton Lester Violett, Louis Irvin Violett, Vernon Victor Violett, Bonnie Sue Berczyk, and Delores Fay Driver; and half-siblings, Jim Violett, John Violett, Pat Bressler, Mary Lou Foty, and Jo Carlson. She was preceded in death by mother, Ruth Babcock and brother, Marvin Violett.
