Ruth Boyer, age 90, of the Leader area, died Friday evening at the Staples Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Brenny Funeral Home Chapel in Staples with Pastor Neal Malcore officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Cemetery. Relatives will receive friends on Monday evening form 4 to 7 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Ruth was born on January 12th, 1915 in Poplar Township to Harley and Lennie Mae (Wheeler) Chapin. On June 23rd, 1951 she married Wallace L. Boyer at the Congregational Church in Staples. Together they farmed and raised their family in Poplar Township of Cass County north of Leader. Throughout the years Ruth sang for many weddings and funerals around the Poplar area and was founding member of the area Birthday Club. She enjoyed her time at the farm working around the yard with her garden and flowers. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing cards with family and friends, crocheting, doing puzzles and feeding the birds around the farm. Ruth was a member of the Oylen Allaince Church in Oylen. Ruth is survived by her son; Craig (Lori) Boyer of Lincoln, son-in-law; Andy Granby of Leader, 5 Grandchildren; Ruth Robben of Staples, Mike Granby of Staples, Adam Boyer of Motley, Ryan Boyer of Motley and Heather Dopler of Motley as well as 5 Great Grandchildren.
