Russell Franklin Lindstrom, 86 years old, a resident of Staples, MN, born August 18, 1927 in Hoffman, MN, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 11, 2013, with Father Joseph Korf officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the church.
Russell grew up and went to school in California. He served in the military in the Merchant Marine division during the WWII, stationed in the Pacific. After his honorable discharge he worked in heavy construction for 57 years in 1990. He moved back to Minnesota in 1992 and was a former resident of Aitkin and Crosby, MN before moving to Staples. He is a member of the California Brotherhood of Carpenters and the American Legion. He loves fishing, woodworking, reading and traveling.
Russell is survived by his wife, Amelia Sanchez Lindstrom; son, Paul Lindstrom of Sta. Cruz, CA; daughter, Dannielle Lindstrom Jordan of Seabeck, WA; sister, Louise Lindstrom Bromley of Ukiah, CA; twin brothers, Ray and Roy Lindstrom of Auburn, CA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ethel (Clark) Lindstrom and Luella Martinache Lindstrom, his first wife.
