Rudolph Rolfs

Rudolph E. Rolfs, age 78, of Thomastown, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 22. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, at 4:30 PM, at the Central United Methodist Church in Verndale. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.

Rudolph was born on January 24, 1933, in Barrett, MN, to Bruno and Ruth (Zellmer) Rolfs. When he was a young boy, the family moved to the Staples area where Rudolph attended school, graduating from Staples High School in 1952. After school, he entered the Army and served for 2 years. Rudolph worked as a diesel mechanic most of his life, retiring in 1981. He was a Union Member and attended the Central UMC regularly. He enjoyed target shooting, woodworking, feeding the birds, and gardening.

Rudolph is survived by his siblings, Elwood Rolfs of Browerville, Bill Rolfs of Sauk Center, and Joanna Rolfs of Richmond, VA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. His parents and a brother, Henry, preceded him in death.
