Rudolph ?Rudy? Eugene Koksma, age 78, Crosslake, died suddenly at home on Saturday, December 23, 2000. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 28, at 1:00 PM, at the Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, with Reverend David Schoessow officiating. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 27, from 5-7:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake, and for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Rudy Koksma was born in Milaca, MN on January 7, 1922, to Wallace and Esther (Nyberg) Koksma. He served in the Army during WW2, in Japan, the Philippines, New Guinea, and Australia. He was married to his wife Evelyn on August 20, 1960, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. The family lived in St. Louis Park and then in New Hope. They began vacationing in Crosslake in 1971 and became year-round residents in 1978. He owned and operated Rudy?s Auto Body Shop in Crosslake until selling the business last year. Rudy was a member of the Crosslake and Jenkins American Legion Posts. He enjoyed yard work and gardening and having coffee with his friends. He was a hard-working man who kept busy helping others. He loved his grandchildren and his pets.
Rudy is survived by his wife Evelyn; 2 daughters Shelly (Mike) Wiggin, Crystal, and Diane Stuelend, Minneapolis; a son Bradley Koksma, Merrifield; a sister Mabel (Tom) Hautella, New Hope; and 3 grandsons, Aaron and Ryan Wiggin and Travis Koksma. His parents and a sister, Margaret Johnson, preceded him in death.
