Rosemary Potvin

Rosemary Potvin, 91, of Brainerd, MN died on Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN with Pastor Tony Wroblewski officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN from 5:00-7:00PM with a prayer service at 6:30PM. Interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN at 10:00AM on Monday, February 1, 2016.

Rosemary was born on January 12, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of William and Eva (Baller) Furey. She graduated from White Bear Lake High School. Rosemary was united into marriage to Ralph Potvin on July 8, 1944. Rosemary and Ralph made their home in Lake City, Faribault, and New Brighton, before moving to Brainerd, MN where Rosemary lived until her time of death. She worked at WIC and Check Rite. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Helena Guild of the Council of Catholic Women. Rosemary enjoyed traveling, walking, needlepoint, dancing, baking, and reading. She also liked doing crossword puzzles, and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Rosemary was a very generous person, who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Rosemary is survived by her children, Greg (Marcia) Potvin of Detroit Lakes, MN, Jeanne (Michael) Houde of Osseo, MN, JoAnn (Steve) Dettbarn of Brainerd, MN, Denise (Terry) Knoll of Chaska, MN, Bill (Cindy) Potvin of Brainerd, MN, Darcy (Doug) Rood of Brainerd, MN, Cathy (Craig) Feierabend of Brainerd, MN, Jim Potvin of Spencer IA, Carol Potvin of St. Paul, MN, Laurie (Jeff) Wig of Brainerd, MN, Steve (Jen) Potvin of Woodbury, MN, and Julie (Gary) Kirchner of Plymouth, MN; thirty five grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and Kodie, her "Porkie Yorkie". She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; brother, Versal; and sisters, Dona and Vi. Memorials are preferred. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
