Rose McCarthy

Rose Ann McCarthy, 75, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 22 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather from 5 to 8 PM Sunday evening at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Rose was born September 18, 1935 in Pearl Lake, MN, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Post) Merten. In 1957, she was united in marriage to Frank McCarthy. Rose's life was filled with faith, family and friends.

Rose will be missed by her children, Jeff (Deb) McCarthy, of Baxter, Shannon McCarthy Pedersen, of Aitkin, Katie (Randy) Lee, of Sylvan Lake, and John (Kathy) McCarthy, of Eden Prairie; eight grandchildren, Kara, Sean, Cam, Libby, Sarah, Connor, Brennan, and Logan; and three great-grandchildren, Izabelle, Gabriel, and Mylie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; granddaughter, Kathryn Ann; and brother, Donald Merten.
