Rose Johnson

Rose Evelyn Johnson, 87, of Brainerd, MN passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Almond House in Brainerd, MN.

Rose was born February 20, 1932 in Tulia, TX to Floyd and Verna (Dawson) Drake. She attended Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska where she met her husband Eugene Johnson.  They were married in Brainerd on July 19, 1953. She studied nursing at Union College and became a private duty nurse.  Rose was a loving mother to her four children, caregiver to her mother, and a devoted minister’s wife throughout Eugene’s many years of service as a Seventh-Day Adventist Pastor.

Rose is survived by her husband, Pastor Eugene Johnson; children, Mitchell (Nilsa) Johnson of Keene, TX, Richard Johnson of Miamisburg, OH, Reneé Johnson of Crosby, MN, Milton (Becky) Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Lance, Tyler, Melody, Megan, Frank, Dawson, Margaret, Rachel; great grandchildren, Harper, Pearson, Mae Rose; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles and sister, Emogene.

A memorial service for will be held at the Brainerd Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM.  The family will be receiving visitors from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the church before the service.  Inurnment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.
