Rose Hurd

Rose Marie Hurd, of Pillager, passed away peacefully at her home March 16, 2005 at the age of 83. She was born in Staples, MN and was a longtime resident of Brainerd. She was married to Charles Hurd. Rose was active in the community. She worked for National Foods for 24 years, was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Church Guild, St. Joan of Arc. She also was involved with Daughters of Isabella (Degree of Honor), Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Jerry Holen of Roseville, MN; two granddaughters, Jill Berg and her husband Brad, and Beth Holen; three brothers, Martin Kowalski, Ed Kowalski, and Dennis Kowalski; and two sisters, Kay Medearis and LaVonne McCoy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sister, Alice Petersen; and brother, Leo Kowalski.

A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Monday, March 21 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN with Reverend Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20 from 3-5 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Parish Prayers will be at 4 PM. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
