Ronald Trafas, age 90, of Little Falls, MN passed away on December 16th, 2023, after a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 21, 2023, at 11:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service. A lunch will be served following the service. Burial will be at St. Adelbert’s Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion in Little Falls.
Ronald James Trafas was born on September 29, 1933, to Helen and Raymond Trafas of Little Falls.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, stationed aboard the U.S.S. Rochester during the Korena War.
On July 6th, 1957, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Moe at Sacred Heart Church in Glenwood, MN.
Ron worked many years for the City of Little Falls. He was a member of the Fire Department, which was his favorite job. He was also a member of the Little Falls American Legion and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and all sports, and loved hunting with his dogs. He took up golfing after retirement and enjoyed many rounds with his friends and family.
Ron is survived by his daughters Kathy Poepping (Bob) and Patty Stumpf (David), four grandsons Joseph Poepping, Mark Poepping, Matthew Poepping, and Michael Stumpf, seven great grandchildren, a brother Jim Trafas, and sister Karen Johnson (Mike).
He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Helen Trafas, his wife Sylvia, and son Michael.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Randall.
